Description

Names & Origin: Commonly known as "Tradescantia" or "Inch Plant" (and locally as Al-Makahla, Akabiyah, or Ba'esah), this plant is native to the tropical regions of the Americas.

Appearance & Colors: It features stunning bi-colored foliage; the upper surface is beautifully striped with green and shimmering silver, while the undersides of the leaves and stems boast a rich, vibrant purple (magenta) hue.

Blooms: It flowers throughout the year at intervals, producing small, delicate blossoms that can be white, purple, or pink.

Growth Habit: A fast-growing and low-maintenance herbaceous plant. It has flexible, trailing, and creeping stems, making it an excellent choice as a dense groundcover.

Versatility & Display: Highly adaptable, it can be grown outdoors for edging or as a groundcover, as well as indoors. It looks spectacular in hanging baskets or placed on high shelves where its vines can cascade beautifully to add a modern, natural touch.
